Version: 1.0
Effective: 9 October 2026
ETT Connect is ETT's free app for its members. It lets you:
- read safety notices, toolbox talks, industry updates and other resources published by ETT;
- download templates, such as toolbox talks and risk assessment templates, to adapt for your own work;
- answer forms and polls that ETT shares with you;
- report an incident, near miss or unsafe practice to ETT, with the option of hiding your name from ETT;
- get notifications, and replies from ETT about reports that carry your name.
If anyone is in danger, or there is an emergency, call 999.
Reports are not watched around the clock. ETT may not see a report for some time.
A report through ETT Connect is not a report to the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI), and it does not replace any report you or your employer must make, or telling your employer. You must still make those reports yourself.
- You need an account to use the app: your full name, your email address and a password. Telling us what best describes you (for example apprentice or electrician) and your employer is optional.
- We email you a link to confirm your email address before you can sign in.
- One account per person. Give your real details and keep your password to yourself.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. The ETT Connect Privacy Policy explains what happens to reports you have already sent.
- Reports must be honest and made in good faith, for safety.
- Do not include anything you know to be false, or anything abusive about named people.
- You can add up to 6 photos, taken with your camera or picked from your photo library.
- If you choose "Report anonymously": ETT staff see the report, but not your name or account. They do see what you wrote and your photos, so leave out anything that would identify you if you want to stay anonymous. The platform keeps a secure record of which account sent the report, so that it shows in your "My reports" list and to prevent misuse; this record is not shown to ETT staff. ETT cannot reply to an anonymous report.
- ETT decides what to do with a report. Sending a report does not mean that ETT will investigate, contact anyone or take action.
Please use ETT Connect only for its purpose. Do not:
- post or send anything unlawful, abusive or false;
- try to find out who sent an anonymous report;
- try to get into another person's account, or interfere with the app or the systems behind it.
The app is free. It may sometimes be unavailable, for example while it is being updated. Its features may change over time.
If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page with a new version number and date.
